Goals / Mini-Bucket List for 2011

Saturday, February 12, 2011 8:00 AM

Every year I make a new set of goals to accomplish. I began doing this in 2004 and keep track of my overall bucket list and these yearly ones over at my main website, Below are my goals and a brief description of why I plan on doing them below:

(1) Advance Three Belts in Tae Kwon Do. I am currently purple belt. The next three belts are: purple/red, red, and brown. I have been training in Tae Kwon Do for several years now and because of three years of sportatic attendence while in law school it took me an disappointingly long amount of time to reach purple. I hope to obtain my blackbelt before the close of 2012.

(2) Obtain Second Blue Belt Tip in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

(3) Get Re-certified in CPR and First Aid.  I used to do this every year but for some reason I let it fall to the wayside.  You never know when you will be put in a shitty situation that may require these skills and considering I do a lot of activities where myself or someone around me has the potential to be injured staying fresh with these skills is important.

(4) Complete At Minimum 4 Mud Runs.  I'm already pre-registered for 6 this year, but sadly I won't be able to make one because of a friend's wedding in England later this year.  These races are always a blast and I am beginning to focus on the larger 7-12 mile ones.

(5) Renew My FAA Medical & Complete Biennial Flight Review.  I have not flown in a couple of years and I need to get my medical done again and do a flight review to be allowed to fly on my own again.  Once all that is done I intend to begin working towards a commercial pilots license.

(6) Drop Down to 10% Body Fat.  The other day I was at 11.4%.  Between 8-10% is typically where a person will begin to see a six pack.  10% Body Fat here I come :-)

(7) Read 20 Books (10 Non-Fiction & 10 Fiction).  I have this goal every year and have no problem completing it.  I've already completed two non-fiction books this year.  I just love to read.

(8) Visit A European Country.  I have never been to Europe and it seems like this is the year to finally visit a country across the Atlantic.  This year will be England.
